Mitsubishi’s L200 is the Pace Setter

Fifth Generation

The L200 is in its fifth generation now and is a great all-rounder which combines traditional pick-up toughness with everyday comfort and practicality. It certainly is a workhorse as well as family motor.

Street Presence

The L200 is one of those vehicles with a big street presence which means business and remains desirable in terms of looks and practicality.

The new version has a more modern front end and that’s about it when it comes to up gradation. The L200 is pretty much stuck to what has proved to be a winning formula so far.

Interior Upgrade

The Mitsubishi L200 interior benefits from an upgrade and gives it an impressively car-like feel.

The cabin offers lot of space, the switchgear is made from good quality and the car feels more comfortable. The leather seats give it the air of an upmarket SUV.

All New Engines

The most important change is the all-new L200 is its aluminium 2.4-litre DI-D diesel engine. It is the first pick-up to boast variable valve timing. There are 151bhp or 178bhp trims available and it can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The new engine is smooth and refined with a pleasing degree of pulling power.  The L200 seems to have been designed with the driver in mind.

Generous Equipment

It gets generous and even the basic 4Life trim comes with cruise control, air conditioning and alloy wheels. If you go for a Titan model and you’ll get larger wheels, privacy glass, DAB and keyless starting.

The Warrior trim adds a sat nav and lots more besides and is the pick of the bunch when it comes to comforts and value for money. The L200 is certainly setting the pace.
