Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy is unveiled with the target of breaking the Nürburgring front wheel drive lap record

 

Renault has introduced its special edition Trophy-275 just ahead of its planned debut at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed in June this year. The all new Trophy-275 is the minute addition to the exclusive performance focused Renault Sport line-up with a modified 2.0 Litre Renault Engine and likely to be more appealing for hot hatch fans. Renault Megane has already a set its sights in to reclaiming the Nürburgring lap record as a front wheel drive passenger car but the title is currently held by the SEAT LEON Cupra 280. This time the French automaker is eager to beat the record of SEAT LEON with its minute model, the all new 275 Trophy. Previous record time was seven minutes and 58.4 seconds, and it was teased by the French auto maker on social media that their 275 Trophy will beat the record time.

 

Renault engine experts have upgraded a 2.0 Litre four cylinder turbocharged engine for 275-Trophy. This engine is modified version of the unit found in the Megane RS but this time it is capable of producing 261bhp to 271bhp. It has a lightweight titanium exhaust system by akrapovic and fitted as standard and it is finished in carbon for exclusively crispy engine note.

 

 

In order to visually mark it out, 275-Trophy is printed on the F1 based style silver blades. Renault has used the silver for chequered flag graphic at bottom of the doors. You can opt for 19-inch alloys with black speedline turini. Interior has Recaro bucket seats and are trimmed in Alcantara and leather and these seats are also equipped with head rests with a Renaultsport brand name. Entire cabin is stitched with red stitching and makes its way to the steering wheel also, while handbrake lever and seats are also similar.
There are no details available on prices and specification but likely to be revealed in June
