Delphi helps reduce noise from engine and CO2 emissions by refining the fuel injectors in Peugeot 308

Delphi is one of the mainstream suppliers of fuel injection systems in the world and they serve almost all automakers in Europe including Peugeot. The all new 308 is also powered by Delphi fuel injection system. It is a direct injection system built in a petrol engine, which emits 107 g/km of CO2 emissions. It is comparatively very low from its predecessor that emits 144g/km from previous generation and is an efficient powerplant.

Delphi in this regard, says that the acoustic noise from the old injectors has been reduced by 1decible and it is arguably lower than the older versions. A Honeywell turbocharger has been installed in the 1.2 Litre petrol engine to get a boost of power.

This Peugeot engine offers two power variants of 110hp and 130hp respectively and these power versions directly replace the previously used 1.4 Litre and 1.6 Litre engines which were capable of turning 98hp and 120hp respectively. In the previous generation’s 1.6 Litre engine, turbochargers were supplied by the BorgWarner. Peugeot 308 is being produced at the Sochaux production facility of Peugeot in France.
