Ford has already announced that it will be placing the 2015 Mustang atop the Empire State Building to celebrate the 50th anniversary and recreate the historical moment, and to make things ever more memorable, only 1,964 vehicles will be made of 2015 Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition. This announcement was made at the 2014 New York International Auto Show.

This special edition Mustang GT will be rigged with each and every option like a performance pack including a mighty 5.0-litre V8 Ford engine that churns out 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, 19-in. Staggered width aluminium wheels with high performance tyres and ultra hi-performance 6-piston Brembo front brakes.

This special edition will be embracing a chrome enclosure for its legendary emblem “galloping horse”, windows will also get chrome trim, the tail lamps detailing will get chrome tri-bar and a simulated gasoline cap. You will also be able to see something that will remind you of 1965 Mustang Fastback, yes, it’s the louvered rear quarter windows but the louvers will actually be made of layered sheets of glass. The interior will also get leather seats with contrast stitching throughout on 2-tone cashmere-over-Black, the aluminium trim on the dashboard will get an axel-spin finish and finally loop-carpet floor mats with suede binding.

This model will be coming in a manual and automatic gearbox. The Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition will be having two exclusive colours, Wimbledon White and Kona Blue. “2015 Mustang will be the only model which will be equipped with the contents of the Performance Pack on an automatic transmission.” says Ford.
