Although the media is trying to create a big scene with VW’s diesel gate scandal, but the question is ‘will people buy it?’

Ever since the scandal surfed about VW fitting in a cheating device in their diesel vehicles to manipulate emissions test, media is trying to project that a majority of diesel lovers have stepped back. But that’s not the case here, a huge number of buyers still love their vehicles.

Do they need to worry about anything?

The new Audi A4 is launched after that diesel gate scandal and most of buyers are worried about the tax they’ll be paying on it, the cost of the car to buy and run, and in the last, if they trade it in for a new car, how much will they get for it?

Their worry is somehow, justified. After all, they are paying a good money to buy a quality vehicle for themselves.

What is it?

In simple words: a quality machine with rubbish ride. The interior is what you may call ‘Audi-sh’ as the company has paid attention to every little detail, whether it be the gadgetries that you can see and touch or the components that you rarely get in contact with.

The quality of the materials used in furnishing the interior is so superb that even the BMW and Jaguar can’t touch the Audi. Despite the fact that this new car is longer than its predecessors – thanks to the VW’s MLB platform – it is in some versions, 120kg lighter.

What’s under the bonnet?

An Audi 2.0-litre TDI engine is found under the bonnet. This frugal diesel engine is capable of producing 187bhp and returning the combined fuel economy of 72.4mpg with CO2 emissions of just 102g/km.

This engine doesn’t rattle, and thanks to the enormous efforts put in by Audi, this engine doesn’t even display any old-fashioned habits that you may find in other engines.

How’s the drive like?

At high speeds on a motorway or on A-roads, it drives wonderful, but as soon as you reach a bumpy road and drive it at under 40mph, it’s a nightmare.

A dreadful nightmare. So if you are into looks, then you may want to buy it, otherwise it may not be the car you would choose for long drives.
