Mitsubishi says that the Outlander has a similar but refreshed rear end with new taillights and brilliant sharp trims across the tailgate.

Interior is also better built with the black wood grain trim along with silver accents throughout the cabin. It has a beautiful center console which is inspired by Japanese black lacquer boxes. Hand stitched leather trims are used for seats that shows some beautiful horizontal ribs.

Mitsubishi confirms that the Outlander will use the plug-in hybrid powertrain with a mix of 2.0 litre four cylinder engine and two electric motors. A twelve kilowatt-hour battery pack will be used as a backup power source in the new Outlander. Recently, a camouflaged model was spotted in Europe while on testing.
