BBC Top Gear’s presenter James May puts his 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera for auction

A car having its owner a celebrity, inflate its value very hard and slowly, but what if the owner or the celebrity is one of the most famous BBC Top Gear presenter and an automotive journalist?

It definitely would worth thinking over again and to have another look at the car. This Porsche 911 Carrera is owned by the automotive journalist and Top Gear presenter James May.  Although it is very good bet as it has been well taken care of, and the proof of his ownership of this car is that he occasionally has driven the car at the television show. It isn’t just any other 911, it’s the original 911 which was replaced in 1989 by the type 964, the Carrera 3.2.

James May has pointed out in a press release that his Carrera is supremely an 80’s car, wearing Guards Red paint and a giant whale tail spoiler. These 80’s Carrera’s are famous for their power and speed. It has an infotainment package including a CD player, but if May have a cassette player installed in it, then it will be a true 80’s experience.

Carrera nameplate was first used by the Porsche cars back in 1984. This nameplate typically mentioned special cars at that time. With the introduction of Carrera 3.2 in 1984, the nameplate became the default for 911 versions.

The height of engineering that Porsche has made since 1963, Carrera became one of highly valuable cars ever. This particular Porsche Carrera 911 was occasionally driven by May’s father as well, but celebrity ownership will still make a difference in price.
