Which ultimately means, formal recall of all 1.2m <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engines4sale.co.uk\/eng-make.asp?part=all-vw-engine\"><strong>Volkswagen diesel engine<\/strong><\/a> cars in the UK too.<\/p>\n<p>Volkswagen welcomed the German decision and said that it would \u201cgive customers clarity with regard to the continued unrestricted use of the vehicles\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_many_cars_were_fitted_with_the_device\"><\/span>How many cars were fitted with the device?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>So far, Volkswagen has admitted of 11m diesel cars worldwide having defeat device installed on them to manipulate emissions tests. That\u2019s a huge number and to meet the costs of recalling, VW has put aside \u00a34.8bn (\u20ac6.5bn).<\/p>\n<p>To face the threats of fines and legal actions from the customers and shareholders, the company has put aside a huge amount, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engines4sale.co.uk\/blog\/finally-vw-usa-apologised\/\"><strong>USA boss has apologised<\/strong><\/a> on this issue.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"When_this_recall_will_begin\"><\/span>When this recall will begin?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>According to the carmaker, the recall of the affected vehicle will begin early in 2016 but due to massive numbers, it may not be completed within the year. The company says that some of their vehicles will be fixed by changing the software, while others will require new parts to be installed such as fuel injectors.<\/p>\n<p>The important fact here is that for VW to begin repairing vehicles around the globe through its recall plan, they need the approval of the German authorities.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_German_authorities_has_to_say_about_it\"><\/span>What German authorities has to say about it?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The recall has been confirmed by the German transport minister, Alexander Dobrindt. He stated that \u201cVW is ordered to remove <a href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/2015\/10\/17\/uk-volkswagen-emissions-software-idUKKCN0SB0PY20151017\"><strong>the defeat software<\/strong><\/a> from all vehicles and to take appropriate measures to ensure that the emissions rules are fulfilled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation between the authorities and the VW had been \u201cextraordinarily good\u201d, further added Dobrinbt.
